Newseum

Aufgefallen:

"When a dog bites a man, that is not news, because it happens so often.
But if a man bites a dog, that is news."
(John B. Bogart, The Sun)

"News is what somebody, somewhere wants to suppress."
(Lord Northcliff)

"Journalism is the first draft of history."
(Philip Graham, publisher, Washington Post)

"Thanks to the TV, for the first time
the young are seeing history being made
before it is censored by their elders."
(Margaret Mead)

"TV news can only present the bones of a story;
it takes a newspaper to present vast amounts of information to render the story truly boring".
(Dave Barry)

"I always turn to the sports section first.
The sports page records people's accomplishments;
the front page has nothing but man's failures. "
(Ed Warren, Chief Justice)

Front Pages after 9/11

"There are three kinds of people who run toward disaster, not away:
cops, firemen and reporters."
(Rod Dreher, newspaper columnist)

"Let the people know the facts, and the country will be safe."
(President Lincoln)
